Where is the power going in your operation? A thorough network analysis and evaluation form the foundation for measures to enhance operational safety and improve energy efficiency. Our standard-compliant network measurements capture all relevant data over a specified period, from phase voltages to harmonic currents and flicker.
For your customized analysis, we provide modern network analyzers for temporary use. Once the device is returned, you will receive a detailed, written evaluation – including specific solution recommendations from our specialists.
Network Measurement
The foundation for assessing the quality of the electrical supply is a network analysis conducted in accordance with the applicable regulations. A network analyser is installed in the supply line for one week to measure the three phase voltages and their corresponding currents, including the neutral (N) and protective earth (PE) conductors. The network analyser then calculates other important parameters such as power, power factor (cos φ), harmonic voltages and currents, frequency, flicker, etc.
We offer network analysis devices for rent. The rental fee is charged per week, depending on the type of measuring device (PQ-Box 100, 150, 200, and PQ-Box 300 are available in our equipment pool). After returning the measuring device to us, a detailed written evaluation will be provided, including proposed solutions from our specialists.
Network analyses according to EN 50160 and IEC 61000-2-2/-2-4 for public and industrial networks can be performed with the measuring devices; you can make an online reservation here, or send us an email at anfrage@frako.de.

Network Evaluations
After the recording of measurement data by the network analysers, the evaluation is conducted in-house based on the available data according to our customers' requirements. Various evaluation profiles are available:
Written Evaluation of Measurement Results NA1:
- Graphical prints without comments: THDU average, THDU max, THDI average, THDI max, P total, Q total, PF total
- Overview according to EN 50160 / EN 61000
- Calculation for required capacitor power or the size of an active or passive filter
Written Evaluation of Measurement Results NA2:
- Graphical prints with comments on: U min, U average, U max, THDU average, THDU max, I average, I max, THDI average, THDI max, P total, Q total, PF total, as well as the most important harmonics of voltage and current, flicker P st and P lt
- Overview and assessment according to EN 50160 / EN 61000
- Proposal in the form of a concrete offer
Written Evaluation of Measurement Results NA3:
- Network analyses according to EN 50160 / EN 61000 from the data of the PQ-Box
- (Similar to NA2, but with an on-site visit and discussion)
- Discussion of possible solutions for network optimization
