Passive Filter Systems
Our modular passive filter system is designed for low-voltage networks with high harmonic content but low reactive power demand. The individually tuned filter circuits, equipped with intelligent control, effectively reduce current and voltage harmonics. Based on harmonic levels (current and voltage) or various power parameters, load stages are automatically switched on or off.
A passive filter system is tuned to a specific harmonic frequency and acts as a low-impedance path at that frequency, meaning it offers minimal resistance. When the corresponding frequency occurs in the network, it is "absorbed" by the filter and filtered out of the network. For example, with the 5th harmonic (fr = 250 Hz), the harmonic current flows into the filter and is eliminated there. This protects the equipment from the harmful effects of harmonics.
